Connections begins with conversations.

Making room for people to listen, share and build healthier relationships.

About the Mission

People at the heart. Community in focus.

Savannah Intercultural Mission is developing work that supports healthier interactions, personal well-being and community life.

Founded by Master Chimbala, the Mission brings a community focus to the challenges facing individuals, couples and families. Mental health and well-being is one of its core programmes, bringing together planned community centres, outreach conversations and media engagement.

Savannah Intercultural Mission and Savannah Intercultural Institute are distinct brands. The Institute focuses on youth and community mentorship; the Mission is developing its own programmes and activities.

Our Work

Mental Health and Well-being

One core programme. Three connected ways to bring support, understanding and healthier interactions closer to everyday life.

Our direction is to create opportunities for social interaction, supportive conversations and counselling, alongside wider education on health, self-care, personal responsibility and healthy decisions.

Part 1 of 3

Community Mental Health Centres

A place to connect and find support.

Planned community mental health centres will bring together social interaction, conversations and counselling for individuals, young people, parents, couples and families.

Part 2 of 3

Community Conversations

Taking conversations into everyday spaces.

Talks with parents and community leaders, and outreach in schools, churches and community organisations, will explore mental health, general well-being and healthier relationships.

Part 3 of 3

Media Outreach

Reaching people where they are.

Social media and conventional media outreach will carry conversations about mental health and well-being to wider audiences, helping people engage with the issues affecting daily life.
